Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu was summoned to training by his employers on Wednesday as they prepare for 'the restart' of the English Premier League.
The Ghanaian went through COVID-19 testing before making it to the Darsley Park. He fortunately tested negative. He and his team mates have been allowed to train in smaller groups in an effort to ensure that social distancing regulations are followed to the letter.
The club has also prohibited media personnel and fans from coming to the training ground in an effort to prevent the virus from spreading. The Premier League made the announcement earlier this week giving all 20 clubs the permission to start training in small groups from Tuesday.
Atsu is the third Ghanaian in the league to start training after Crystal Palace duo Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp began their session on Wednesday.
The biggest competition in England is expected to be back in June. The winger made 18 appearance and had three assists before the league was suspended.
