Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu is in line for more playing time at Newcastle following the recent injury blow to summer signing Allan Saint-Maximin.

The Black Stars attacker has had an inconsistent start to the ongoing English Premier League season as far as enjoying starting roles is concerned.

He has struggled for playing time in the last couple of weeks due to the availability for France international Allan Saint-Maximin and English winger Matt Ritchie.

Allan-Maxim was in action for Newcastle United when they defeated Southampton 2-1 over the weekend. Unfortunately for the former OG Nice star man, he sustained an injury and is set to spend some time on the sidelines.

What that means is that manager Steve Bruce will need to resort to his bench which ultimately leaves Atsu in line for that role.

According to statistics, the Ghanaian has been impressive with the limited playing time he has enjoyed and will be able to slot in with ease to help the Magpies through the Christmas period.
