Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu made an assist for Newcastle United earlier today but his side, unfortunately, lost 3-1 to Liverpool at Anfield on match week 5 of the English Premier League.
The Magpies visited the league leaders in hopes of continuing their fine form before the international break to try and cause an upset.
They started off very well when Black Stars attacker Christian Atsu linked up with defender Jetro Willems to give the side the lead with just 7 minutes into the first half.
They could however not hold on and conceded twice before going into the break. A brace from Senegalese star Sadio Mane ensured Liverpool finished the half on the winning side and well on course to keep their perfect start to the season intact.
A third goal from Mohammed Salah in the second half sealed an emphatic victory for Jurgen Klopp’s men who are now on 15 points after five matches.
Atsu played the full 90 minutes of the game and showed signs of his quality in attack for his side.
