German-born Ghanaian international, Christopher Antwi-Adjei has marked his debut for the Black Stars today as he helped the team to beat São Tomé and Príncipe 1-0 in the qualifiers to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The attacker recently received his maiden call-up to the national team and was in line to feature against South Africa but due to late arrival to the camp of the team, he had to watch from the stands.
As Ghana played as a guest to São Tomé and Príncipe who is also in Group C of the qualifiers this afternoon, Antwi-Adjei climbed off the bench to make his first appearance for the side.
Having replaced youngster Samuel Owusu, the SC Paderborn marksman showed signs of his quality and added to the attacking play of the Black Stars.
The team managed to bag all 3 points at the end of 90 minutes with Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew netting the only goal of the game via the penalty spot.
Christopher Antwi-Adjei will now be hoping to get back into the Ghana team when the AFCON qualifiers return next year.
