Former Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah has urged CK Akonnor to assemble a good squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifying games.

Ghana are in Group G alongside, South Africa, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe.

After booking a qualification for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON], Appiah beleives Akonnor must build a good team that can compete.

“CK Akonnor has added up (his own players) and we (Ghanaians) can’t always be building a team, we have to make sure that we have a formidable team," he told Ghanacrusader.

“I can’t say anything now because am not in charge but it’s important to put up a strong team knowing very well that we have World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] con ahead of us.

Ghana will kick off its World Cup qualifiers in June having missed out in the 2018 Mundial.
