Head coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, Charles Kwablah Akonnor was at the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night to watch Christian Atsu feature for his Newcastle side in their 3-2 win against Oxford United in the English FA Cup.

The new technical head of Ghana’s senior national team is on a tour in Europe to monitor and meet up with players as he begins to decide on the players he will be working with.

In a fifth-round tie of the English FA Cup played yesterday, CK Akonnor made his way to the Kassam Stadium and watched Atsu live in action though he didn’t start the match.

The pacey attacker came on as a substitute on the 103rd minute and went on to have a good game as he assisted the last goal for Newcastle United to help the Magpies to emerge as 3-2 victors.

At the end of the game, the gaffer met with the Black Stars attacker where they held successful talks.
