Asante Kotoko coach CK Akunnor has stated his side's readiness for their first leg CAF Confederation Cup encounter with Kariobangi Sharks.

Kotoko will be in Nairobi to play against the Kenyan side on Saturday in a game they will be hoping to get a good result coming into the second leg.

Due to the inactivity of football activities in Ghana, Kotoko have resorted to playing friendly matches in preparing for the championship.

Their last trial game was on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium where they defeated the Black Meteors 3-0.

That result plus other good results recorded in their trial games give CK Akunnor massive confidence going into their game against Kariobangi.

"We have prepared well despite the conditions around and i believe this team will do well in the competition," he said

"Playing in Africa is not easy and the players put together have shown that they can match team so we are hopeful of making a positive impact in Africa."

Kotoko are expected to leave Accra for Nairobi on Wednesday for the first leg of their game with Kariobangi Sharks FC.
