Club Licensing Board bans Elmina Sharks from using Paa Kwasi Nduom Stadium as home venue

The Club Licensing Board has banned Elmina Sharks from using the Paa Kwasi Nduom Stadium as their home venue in the ongoing football season following a mid-season inspection.

The board prior to the start of the 2020/2021 season inspected the various home venues adopted by the clubs in the Ghana Premier League before granting the license for them to be used.

As the season progressed, however, some clubs have failed to keep their home venues in good condition, leaving players to struggle during matchdays.

In a bid to keep clubs on their toes, the club Licensing Board at the end of the first round of the season is currently embarking on a mid-season inspection exercise.

Unimpressed with the condition of the pitch at the Paa Kwasi Nduom Stadium, the board has announced that it has revoked the license issues to the club at the start of the season.

The same has been done to Berekum Chelsea and the club hence is also not allowed to use the Golden City Park as their home venue.

“The Club Licensing Board, acting in its capacity as the first instant body of the Club Licensing process has revoked the Licenses of Berekum Chelsea and Elmina Sharks FC to use the Golden City park and the Nduom sports stadium respectively,” a communique on the website of the GFA has said.

Meanwhile, the following clubs have been issued a warning to improve the conditions of their home venues or face a ban as well:

Dreams FC – Theatre of Dreams, Dawu

Eleven Wonders / King Faisal FC – Ohene Ameyaw park, Techiman

Bechem United – Bechem park
