Coach Bashir Hayford credits Legon Cities FC management for team’s resurgence

The head coach for Legon Cities FC, Bahir Hayford has applauded the efforts of the management of the club that has helped him to turn around the fortunes of the team.

The former Ashanti Gold SC gaffer was appointed by the club midway through the first round of the ongoing 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

When he took over, the club was rooted in the relegation zone and counted amongst the teams that will drop out of the top-flight league at the end of the season.

On the back of hard work, coach Bashir Hayford has managed to inspire the side to climb out of the relegation zone and now certain to at least finish in mid-table.

Looking back at the progress the team has made, the experienced tactician says credit should go to the management of the club as well as players for showing impressive fighting spirit through those difficult times.

“We didn’t start the season so well. I wasn’t here from the beginning but I am very happy to see the transformation and the changes that took place in the team. I give credit to the management, the technical team and the players. We have all given our best and the results are coming gradually. It is a good work,” coach Bashir Hayford noted at a press conference last Tuesday.

Later today, the gaffer and his team will take on Hearts of Oak in a matchday 30 encounter of the Ghana Premier League season.
