Coach Chris Hughton aims to win first game as Ghana coach to earn the support of Ghanaians

New Ghana head coach, Chris Hughton has set sight on using the game against Angola to earn the full support and trust of Ghanaians.

The gaffer will be leading the Black Stars to face off with their counterpart from Angola in the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament today, Thursday, March 23.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Coach Chris Hughton said it is crucial for him to guide the Black Stars to secure a win.

“For me personally it will be a wonderful thing and of course hugely important to get the win but more importantly for the team. To win this game at home is hugely important,” Coach Chris Hughton shared.

The game between Ghana and Angola will kick off at 16:00gmt at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium later this evening.

If Ghana wins today, the national team will have a three-point lead at the top of the Group E standings of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
