Veteran Ghanaian coach, J.E Sarpong has advised the management of Asante Kotoko to stick with the team’s current squad if they want to achieve something in the future.

Over the weekend, the Kumasi-based club was bundled out of the CAF Confederations Cup competition after losing 2-1 to ES Setif in the final play-off round to the group stage.

Impressed with the second leg performance of the Asante Kotoko team, Coach JE Sarpong says it will be important for the current players at the club to be kept together in the foregoing.

“My advice to the management and the Technical team is these Kotoko players who went to Algeria have a future.

“The current players of Kotoko who featured in their match against Algerian club Setif in their first league most of the players was their first time of playing Kotoko,” the former Great Olympics coach shared in an interview with Ashh FM.

Coach Sarpong added, “That's why they struggle in their first league but their second leg performance was good so they should put the players together and motivate them and they should provide the needs for the players if they want something because they have a future. Kotoko can go places if they keep these players.”

Out of the CAF Confederations Cup competition, Asante Kotoko has now turned attention to the Ghana Premier League.
