Coach Jimmy Cobblah: WAFU Tourney has arrived at the right time

Jimmy Cobblah, Ghana's national U-20 team coach says West Africa Football Union (WAFU) competition arrived at the right time.

According to him, it has come rightfully to access his team ahead of next year African Youth Championship.Having almost a new team made of local players will shape the players a lot.

"This tournament has come at the right time and we are set to have it as a starting point for preparation ahead of Africa Youth Championship".

"The tournament will also assist as to access our players since most of them are locally based footballers in other to ensure we have a side that can create competition for the players".

Jimmy Cobblah could not finish it up without talking about the professional players who made it through the qualifiers and their game against Algeria. He said, all of them are not on board for now because they need an addition that will strengthen the Satellites team for AFCON.

"In our qualifiers we had five professional players we never brought on board, during our qualification some of our boys were scouted to Europe and we never brought them on board" So we have come with these players to see those that can do well so we select them to give our other boys a good competition".

Coach Jimmy Coblah's side have been drawn in group B of the competition with Nigeria, Niger and Benin.Meanwhile, the tournament starts on 6 December and ends on 16 December 2018.
