Coach Johnson Smith and Patron Akakpo head to Bekwai Youth FC - Reports

Former Asante Kotoko assistant coach, Johnson Smith is heading to Bekwai Youth FC as the new head coach for the lower side.

The experienced trainer will be assisted by Patron Akakpo.

Smith lost his role as the assistant gaffer for the Porcupine Warriors when Prosper Narteh Ogum following his appointment named new assistant coaches.

David Ocloo and John Eduafo are now assisting the former WAFA head coach at the club.

He was left out of Asante Kotoko's trip to Dubai for their pre-season ahead of the new 2021/22 Ghana football season.

The former Karela United boss will now reunite with Dr Kwame  Kyei at Bekwai Youth FC.

Dr Kwame Kyei, who is the Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko has purchased a Division One League club following successful negotiations.

The hardworking and astute businessman has paid ¢200,000 with a 100% stake in the Division One club Bekwai Youth Football Academy.

BYFA are in Zone two of the National Division One. The club secured promotion into the country’s second-tier league in 2017 and are yet to qualify for the Ghanaian top-flight since.
