Coach Johnson Smith set to start work at Asante Kotoko this week

Karela United head coach Johnson Smith is expected to commence work at his new club Asante Kotoko this week after agreeing terms with the club, Footballghana.com can report.

The experienced gaffer has been in Kumasi for the past few days to complete talks with the management of the Porcupine Warriors to finalise his switch ahead of the new season.

He will be taking over from Akakpo Patron as the assistant coach of the club ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Coach Smith has vast experience having managed Sekondi Hasaacas, Bibiani GoldStars, Eleven Wise and Berekum Arsenals.

He guided Karela United to secure qualification to the Ghana Premier League during the 2017 season.

Coach Smith also lead Karela United to reach the finals of the Ghana Football Association Normalisation Committee Special Competition.
