Coach Maxwell Konadu delighted with players performance in Ghana's win against Ivory Coast

Head coach for the Black Stars B team of Ghana, Maxwell Konadu has shared his delight to the performance of his players in their 3-1 win against Cote d’Ivoire in the semi-finals of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations tournament.

The defending champions survived the prowess of the Elephants at the Stade Lat Dior in Senegal on Tuesday evening to ensure they advanced into the grand final which will be played on Sunday.

Speaking on his team’s performance in a post-match interview, Coach Maxwell Konadu has applauded the display of his players in a game that he observes they didn’t play very well.

The gaffer was pleased with the 3 goals scored by his team and praised them for doing what was needed to advance from that stage of the tournament.

“It wasn’t easy getting here. We did all the necessary training to propel as to win. Basically we made sure that we instill the winning mentality to them. Even as bad as we played today but we are able to do the most needed thing, that is the goals, Coach Maxwell Konadu shared.

He added, “And I am happy for the guys that at least we scored three goals today. That was our initial problem. People were saying that our team is not scoring. Today we managed to put 3 past the Ivory Coast and I must commend the boys”.
