Ex-Asante Kotoko gaffer Michael Osei has backed Felix Annan to become the first choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars.

Currently, Maritzburg player Richard Ofori is Ghana’s number one but the experienced trainer who coached Annan at Kotoko is confident Annan, 23, can become the first option should he maintain his current form.

“I was very happy in the first place for his (Felix Annan) call up to the Black Stars.” Michael Osei told Kumasi-based Silver 98.3 FM.

“I know he can become the number one for Ghana should he continue like this. I have trained him and I know what he can achieve. I want to see him achieve even bigger feats than just call-ups”

Felix Annan recently suggested in an interview that he’s not bent on playing abroad if conditions in Ghana. Coach Osei was asked about his opinion on this and said :

“I don’t think if there is a big offer to go abroad Annan will reject it.”

Meanwhile, the Black Stars play against Asante Kotoko at the Babayara on Friday after the AFCON qualifiers against FIFA suspended-Sierra Leone were cancelled by CAF.
