Ghana Football Association president Kwasi Nyantakyi has reiterated his commitment towards the development of the Women’s game in Ghana.

The Ghana FA on Tuesday announced a sponsorship package worth 1.1 million Ghana cedis from Sanford World Clinics for the maiden Women’s FA Cup.

Sponsorship for the women’s football in the country has been very minimal with the association having to always finance the activities of the women’s game with monies from FIFA.

This new sponsorship for Nyantakyi is great and will go a long way to help develop the women’s game.

“This will go a long way to help develop the game here and I want this to be a case study for those out there to get attracted and join the fray for the sponsorship of women’s football,” he said

“Ghana has a huge potential in women’s football, they were the first to qualify for the World Cup before the men so if we pay attention to women’s football it will continue to bring glory, honour and dignity to our country.”
