Mr George Amoako, the General Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko says playing in CAF inter-club competitions is financially too demanding.

The Porcupine Warriors will be representing Ghana at next season's CAF Confederations Cup which begins in November, hence coach Charles Kwabla Akunnor and his charges have intensified training hoping to make a mark this time around.

The experienced administrator was speaking at the launch of the club African campaign and he believes the competition is expensive.

However, he edged the fans of the club to support the players and patronize Kotoko’s home games.

” We need the support of the fans. If we want the development of the club. We are fine with everything. We have made recruitment to beef up the squad. The team just need a little time to jell and start firing at all cylinders,” he said.

” African is not easy. The African Cup is always about dollars. The competition is expensive. But we all agreed to go and play."

"We don’t want to just to go and compete. We want to go and do well. And hopefully, win the cup."

He also disclosed that the Reds spent lots of money in last year’s Confederation Cup campaign.

“According to what is left with us. Last year we spent over Gh₵650,000 just on the one round we played against CARA. So if we have made up our mind to go far this season."

"Then we must sacrifice and pay. The competition is very expensive. But we must be ready for everything,” he concluded.
