The Executive Commitee of the GFA has approved Match Review Panel's (MRP) recommendation to restrain Referee Adu Poku from officiating until the rest of the first round of the season. The MRP had earlier recommended that referee Poku be banned for the rest of the season in respect of the Premier League Match Day Six between WAFA FC and Tema Youth. However, the MRP announced that the recommendation to suspend the referee for the rest of the season ws done in error. The MRP indicated in its review that the referee should be suspended for the rest of the First Round of the ongoing league season. A statement on the GFA website read "Consequently, in line with Article 97 of the Disciplinary Code of the GFA, which states inter alia a deciding body may at anytime rectify any mistakes in calculation or any other obvious error detected later”. "The Executive Committee hereby upholds that you are suspended for the rest of the First Round of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League instead of the earlier suspension directed," it added.
