Confusion hit GFA over the appointment of technical director

Confusion has rocked the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] over the appointment of a new technical director.

Oti Akenteng, who has served as the technical director of the country’s football governing body for the past years is on the verge of leaving his role.

The CAF technical director will leave his role in March.

However, member of the Executive Council are divided over who is to replace Mr Akenteng.

Multiple reports suggest that some members are interested in appointing an expatriate to see over the running of football activities in the country whiles other members want an indigenous person to the appointed.

Already, veteran Ghanaian coach, Bashir Hayford has already applied for the job.

An emergency meeting is expected to be held on Monday.
