Former Hearts of Oak striker Maxwell Boakye has revealed that the coronavirus pandemic has halted his transfer plans.
The Ghana FA’s executive council after a marathon meeting last Tuesday, June 30, decided to annul the season which had been suspended since March 16 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The decision was deemed as devastating for the football industry that was about finding its feet after close to 2 years on non-competitive action due to a period of normalization after the Anas Exposé.
Boakye, who now ply his trade for Division One League side Bibiani Goldstars amassed 10 goals in 13 games with 7 other assists in the scrapped football season.
Due to his outstanding performance for his outfit a lot of clubs both locally and internationally shown interest in signing the highly rated forward.
But in an interview with Bryt FM in Koforidua, the striker expressed that he has not been able to acquire any club due to the novel coronavirus that has wrecked the world.
“As you know, a lot of Ghana Premier League clubs are yearning for my services but the virus has halted everything. I’m still embarking on my training and see the way forward after the disease” he concluded.
