Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Techiman Eleven Wonders, Albert Yahaya Commey has expressed optimism in the government to come to the aid of clubs in the country in the midst of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

Football in the West African country has been badly hit by the Covid-19 with the 2019/2020 season currently suspended as a precautionary measure against the spread of the deadly disease.

Due to the inactivity, clubs are facing financial challenges with several of them indicating that they re struggling to py their players.

In the past couple of months, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been in talks with the government to fight for a share of a stimulus package to alleviate the plight of the clubs.

Though the sport missed out on the stimulus package announced by the government, Albert Yahaya Commey says he is confident there is a next one in which football will be included.

"I know the stimulus package from the government is two. There should be no serious worries football was not captured in the first part of the stimulus package. We just have to hope football will be captured in the second part of it". the Wonders CEO told FOX FM.
