Covid-19: Hearts striker Abednego Tetteh to miss Aduana Stars game despite testing negative

Published on: 10 November 2020

Striker Abednego Tetteh will not be available for selection on Saturday when Hearts of Oak take on Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League.

The defending champions will be hosting the Phobians this weekend on Matchday 1 of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

Ahead of the fixture, highly-rated striker Abednego Tetteh has ruled himself out as he continues to stay in isolation.

The forward is one of 3 players who tested positive for the Covid-19 over the past weekend. Although he has recovered and is negative at the moment, he is expected to complete a week-long isolation and hence he will not be able to feature for his team in the game against Aduana Stars.

“The team manager (Saban Quaye) told me three people including myself are positive for the coronavirus after the result.

“But after visiting the hospital, the doctor told me he don’t see anything and that I’m negative for the virus,” Abednego Tetteh told Atinka FM in an interview.

He continued, “He did all the tests and nothing shows that we are positive, and we were supposed to start training but because it was already in the media, the best way is to isolate myself for one week.”

“But unfortunately I will not be available for Aduana Stars game because of my one-week isolation.”
