Covid-19: Joseph Paintsil given the green light by Genk to travel to Ghana

In the midst of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Belgian Pro League club KRC Genk has given Ghanaian international Joseph Paintsil the green light to travel to his home country.

Belgium is one of the numerous countries that have suspended their football season due to the Coronavirus.

Following weeks of staying in isolation, Joseph Paintsil has been cleared to travel to Ghana if he wants.

Due to the closure of all airfields and borders in the West African country, the forward will have to stay out in Belgium until the situation changes.

In Ghana, as many as 154 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus with as many as 31 people said to have recovered and continuing treatment at home.

On the global stage, over 840,000 people have tested positive for the Covid-19 while at least 41,000 pwoplw have died.

With the scare still felt worldwide, Joseph Paintsil is staying put in Belgium for now and will make a decision on whether to return to Ghana or not when the government announces that flights are allowed into the country.
