Since the first 2 cases of the Covid-19 was recorded in Ghana, the number in the past weeks has shot up to a total of 408 as of Saturday, April 11, 2020.

As a precautionary measure against the spread of the disease, the government has put a ban on all public gatherings including sporting activities. In line with that, the Ghana FA has also put the 2019/2020 football season on hold which has now seen all players staying at home.

With a partial lockdown in Kumasi, Kotoko's NCC has decided to support the club to ensure the management and playing body is protected. Led by their chairman Christopher Demenya, the group has donated GH¢10,000, 3,000 boxes of tissue paper, 100 boxes of hand sanitizers, as well as boxes of liquid soap.

According to Demenya, the gesture by the NCC is to help the team to get through the difficult times presented by the Coronavirus in the lockdown period.
