COVID-19 relief fund allocation to GPL clubs not enough- Dreams FC's Ameenu Shardow laments

Dreams FC's administrative manager, Ameenu Shardow has lamented on the small sum allocated by the Ghana Football Assocation to Ghana Premier League clubs.

The 18 clubs in Ghana's top flight competition are set to earn a total of $270,000 from the COVID-19 relief fund issue by FIFA and CAF. In simple terms, each club will earn $15,000. The total money to be received by the association is $1.8 million.

“The money is not enough. The money is just not enough," he told Nathaniel Attoh on the Joy Sports Link.

However, Shardow sympathized with the GFA, stating that the amount could have been higher if they had received more than $1.8 million dollars.

"We at the Premier League level would have wished to earn more money and I’m sure the GFA and other member associations wishes that it is not just 1.8 million [dollars] coming in but rather 5 million [dollars] or 6 million [dollars]. I don’t have issues with people who have raised concerns on how the money has been allocated."
