Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has left the door ajar for a sensational return to Manchester United by insisting his latest new contract deal will not be his last, as reported byBBC Sport.
The 31-year-old Portugal internationalwas speaking at his contract presentation at the Bernabeu, alongside Real president Florentino Perez and Spanish media, that will see him remain at the club until 2021.
The three-time Ballon d'Or winner joined the Spanish giants back in 2009 from Manchester United and has since written his name into Madrid history by becoming the club's all-time record goalscorer with 371 goals in just 360 appearances.
And despite turning 36 when his new deal expires, the former United star insists it won't be his last as he can see himself playing for another 'ten years'- potentially until his 41st birthday.
"I've got a lot of years left in football, another 10 years," he said.
He added: "It's a very important day, I have said many times that I carry this club in my heart, it is part of me and it is a special time in my life.
"I'm going to be here for another five years, but let it be known this will not be my last contract."
The 31-year-old has been continuouslylinked with a return to Old Trafford in recent years, but while he stated he would like to retire in Spain, he insisted 'no one knows what the future holds'.
"We have to wait and see. No one knows what the future holds, of course I would like to end my career at this club, this is my penultimate contract, I want to be here for many years to come. I am overjoyed."
