Real Madrid talismanCristiano Ronaldo will miss Saturday's league clash with Eibar afterfailing to recover from a recurring problem, the club have confirmed.

Ronaldo was the Real hero in midweek as he scored twice late on to salvage a 3-3 draw with Las Palmas, after Gareth Bale had been sent off early in the second half.

But Real will now be without both players, as well as Alvaro Morata, after Ronaldo was not named in the travelling squad to feature in the game.

Bale has been handed a two-match suspension following his dismissal, while Ronaldo trained alone on Friday and subsequently was unable to make it.

Head coach Zinedine Zidane revealed that the long-term condition of his star forward was a main factor behind the decision not to play him in a pre-match press conference on Friday, even while at the time of speaking, the squad hadn't been confirmed.

He said, viaESPN:"He has a recurring problem and that is why he has not trained with us. Every game is important, but the most important thing is for the player to be well.

"I have 24 players and my message has always been the same since I began to coach here: All the players are important. I'm not going to change that."

Real will have to rely on the likes of Karim Benzema to deliver the goals as they look to re-establish their lead in the Spanish top flight - they currently trail leaders Barcelona byone point following the drop of points in their last outing.

Real hold a game in hand over their rivals however and will look to get back to winning ways on Saturday.
