Crystal Palace begin contract extension talks with in-form Jeffrey Schlupp

Footballghana.com can report that Crystal Palace has started contract extension talks with Ghanaian international Jeffrey Schlupp following his recent form in the English Premier League.

The versatile Black Stars asset has been in red-hot form in the last couple of weeks and produced impressive displays in the last two matches of the side in the top-flight.

The 26-year-old netted Palace’s winning goal against Bournemouth in midweek after he had scored last weekend in the team’s 2-0 victory away at Burnley.

Schlupp’s performance in those matches has been key for manager Roy Hodgson whose side continues to turn heads in their division. They are now sitting 7th on the Premier League standings as they challenge the big guns.

It appears the top hierarchy of Crystal Palace is delighted with the display of the player and has now opened contract talks to give him an extension.

Jeffrey Schlupp’s current contract is expected to expire in 18 months but Palace wants to add a couple more years to reward him for his contribution and commitment to the team.

The Ghanaian has made 13 appearances this week, with 8 of them being starting roles. He has excelled in any role he has played and is expected to be vital for Palace throughout the remainder of the 2019/2020 season.
