Crystal Palace defender Jeffrey Schlupp likely to miss Aston Villa clash through injury

Manager for Crystal Palace, Roy Hodgson has disclosed that Ghanaian international Jeffrey Schlupp could miss the side’s English Premier League fixture against Aston Villa through injury.

The versatile player who can fit in defense or attack picked up a knock during the Eagles’ trip to Old Trafford last weekend when they defeated Manchester United 1-0.

Due to that injury, he missed Palaces’ Carabao Cup defeat to lower division side Colchester United last Tuesday.

Speaking in a post-match interview after that game, manager Roy Hodgson hinted that Jeff Schlupp could miss the upcoming match. According to the English gaffer, he is hoping the 27-year-old can shake off the knock in order to be ready for the next game against Villa.

“We had injuries to [Joel] Ward and [Jeffrey] Schlupp anyway, and we didn’t want to take a chance on them, with others still coming back”, the gaffer shared.

Jeffrey has been a phenomenon for the Eagles in all matches he has played this season and there is no doubt his return to the starting eleven of the side will be key as they look forward to picking up another 3 points at the end of the upcoming match day.
