Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson tips Ghana striker Jordan Ayew to score more goals

The interim manager of Crystal Palace, Roy Hodgson has indicated that he has no doubt about Jordan Ayew’s ability to score goals.

Speaking in a post-match interview after the Eagles beat West Ham United 4-3 over the weekend, the veteran tactician praised the Black Stars striker, indicating that he has seen a lot of improvements.

The only thing he believes Jordan Ayew must do is to score more goals. Roy Hodgson believes that if the striker continues to perform at the current level, he will score more than 10 goals next season.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t have that sort of return from him in the 150-odd games I had (previously). If he continued like [he has now], it would give him something like 12 or 13 goals a year.

“I can’t praise Jordan enough. His game has improved enormously,” Roy Hodgson said.

The English manager was the one in charge of Crystal Palace during the 2019/20 season when Jordan Ayew had his best goal return in a season since moving to England.

That season, the striker netted 9 goals and won the Player of the Season and Top Scorer awards at Crystal Palace.
