Crystal Palace need Man Utd for bigger transfer budget - Allardyce

Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce is aiming for three points against Manchetser United on Sunday to boost his transfer budget for the summer transfer window.

The Eagles could climb up to 11th in the league table with a win at Old Trafford, and that will significantly boost their prize money.

"Yes, the budget will get bigger if we can go up a couple of places," he said.

"The chairman has pointed that out to me like every chairman I've worked for which is always an important part of each years' growth. So the higher you can finish in the league, the bigger and better the prize money so if we can get a result at Old Trafford, then that will be fantastic.

"It's pretty significant isn't it [the difference in prize money for finishing 11th and 17th]. For the players as well because they've got good bonuses for the position they finish in the league so they are well aware of what it means.
