Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has insisted that the club's new American owners are here for the long haul and not here to make a quick profit.

Palace lost 2-1 yesterday against joint Premier League leaders Manchester City and the English boss is starting to get a lot of pressure from the fans.

With theEvening Standardreporting, Palace boss Pardew has backed the recently new owners and say's the Americans have their heart set on Selhurst Park, they invested £50m in the club last December and aren't looking to make a profit and sell-up.

Palace have only taken 22 points since the start of 2016 and undoubtedly Pardew is trying to get extra backing off the board after some of thefans seem to have turned against the former Newcastle boss. Despite this Pardew is confident the owners have a long-term plan and that it involves him.

Crystal Palace have averaged 0.71 points per game in 2016, the worst in all of English Football. How has Pardew not been sacked? 

"When they came into the club there was a long-term view from them about this football club, it's not a short fix or a short profit margin they are looking for, they want this to be a sustainable Premier League club, and of course we are in our fourth year in the Premier League which is the first time we have ever done it.

Pardew's side currently sit 16th and despite their poor start, he claims that the clubcould be in a far worser position, he said:So as much as there are a lot of negatives being bandied around about us, I still think this club is not in a bad position compared to a lot of other Premier League clubs.

No-one is immune from problems with owners “ no manager. But I can have no problem with mine. They are very patient and loyal and hopefully I can reward them with some points soon.

This is #cpfc's league form in 2016. Absolutely dreadful.

Pardew then gave the fans some confidence in saying trust the owners and said they know what they are in for, the pair own thePhiladelphia 76ers NBA side and is confident they will go beyond the heights of last years FA Cup final, Pardew finally added,

I think they have got a good handle on soccer. They know the process. They know that there is a process to go through. Anyone who has seen us this year will say that the way we are playing is different. Therefore there is this transition. But in terms of their own franchises in the States, they have had problems. They know that it is not an easy fix.
