After failing in his attempt to sign Santos playmaker Lucas Lima on transfer deadline day, Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is set to try again in January, though the player might be tempted by the big bucks on offer in the Far East.

Meanwhile, as reported byThe Sun,the Brazilian side are trying to tie down the 26-year-old to a new long-term deal.

As for the player himself, he has admitted his future is up in the air, and has made a point not to rule out a lucrative move to Chinese Super League side Hebei Fortune, managed by former Manchester City and Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Lima stated: There's this possibility [of renewing]. I feel very good here. If I leave, it has to be good for me and for the club. Otherwise, I'm not going. It's my home, I have friends here.

"There's a chance [of going to China], but I will analyse. I leave that aside, because I'm having a good time at Santos," he added.

Of course, the Chinese have the capacity to completely overshadowany otheroffersthatLima or Santos mightreceive, and are reportedly ready to givethe playera staggering deal worth around 1m Euros per month.

While it's fair to say Palace won't be able to provide such financial luxuries, they might still prove an attractive option for the player.

Pardew isafter morecreativity in midfield and Lima certainlyfits the bill - he's been capped 12 times by his country and would be a welcome addition to the Palace squad.
