English-born forward of Ghanaian descent, Daniel Agyei was in action for Oxford United on Monday night when they lost 2-1 to Wycombe Wanderers in the play-off to the Championship next season.

The two League One teams have performed outstandingly well in the 2019/2020 football season and locked horns at the Wembley Stadium to fight for qualification to the second tier.

Wycombe Wanderers took the lead after just 9 minutes of play when Joe Jacobson assisted Anthony Stewart.

Though Oxford United managed to draw level on the 57th minute through Mark Sykes. They could not keep the momentum in their attacking plays as Wycombe grabbed the winning goal on the 79th minute with Captain Joe Jacobson scoring from the penalty spot.

A minute later, Ghanaian striker Daniel Agyei was introduced to help Oxford United fight for a way back. He added to the attacking threat of his team and even created a few good goal scoring opportunities.

Unfortunately, his team could not equalize and have missed out on gaining promotion to the English Champions next season.

This season, Daniel Agyei has played in 13 goals for Oxford United where he managed to score 3 times.
