Daniel Amartey laments on lack of game time at Leicester City

Ghana defender Daniel Amartey is worried with his recent lack of playing time at English side Leicester City.

Amartey, who was enjoying much playing time week in week out under sacked Italian coach Claudio Ranieri has however not enjoyed plenty of playing time under the new Leicester City boss, Shakespeare especially following the arrival of Nigerian Ndidi, who is a typical defensive midfielder.

The 21-year old's manager Yusif Chibsah in an interview with Joy Fm noted that his boy is worried but believes he will bounce back.

"I am worried and the player is also worried because no player likes to be on the bench especially when you know you are in your peak," he said

"These are some of the issues some of us we have when it comes to the timing of the Africa Cup of Nations, a player playing in Europe and then join his national team loses his position at the club side.

"They bought Ndidi specifically for that position because Amartey was leaving for the Nations Cup and to be honest Ndidi is playing so well and that has made it very difficult for Amartey to get starting place.

"But Amartey is a utility player, he has lots of options and it is just a matter of patience i know he will bounce back."
