Daniel-Kofi Kyereh absent as St. Pauli loses 2-1 to Hamburg SV

Ghana international, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh was excluded from the FC St. Pauli team on Friday when they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Hamburg SV.

The highly-rated attacker travelled back to Germany on Thursday after Ghana’s painful exit from the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Due to his stress, his manager at FC St. Pauli decided to leave him out of the squad for the tough game against Hamburg SV.

On the matchday, St. Pauli took the lead through Guido Burgstaller in the 30th minute but a poor second-half showing saw the home team coming from behind to steal the win.

It was all thanks to goals from Basiten Schonlau and Bakery Jatta in the 58th and 70th minutes respectively.

With enough rest this weekend, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is expected to feature for FC ST. Pauli next weekend when the team takes on SC Paderborn.
