The 28-year-old SC Freiburg attacker, who previously tore his left cruciate ligament, is experiencing problems again due to increased strain on his knee. As a result, Kyereh will undergo another surgery.

Kyereh has already left SC Freiburg's training camp in Schruns to prepare for the operation. This procedure aims to determine the next steps for his treatment and load management.

This is the second time Kyereh has torn the cruciate ligament in his left knee, explaining his prolonged absence from the field. Initially, a year was allocated for his recovery, but this timeline has since been exceeded, with Kyereh now sidelined for approximately 18 months.

The latest setback further delays his return, likely extending his absence well beyond this season. It is increasingly apparent that Kyereh will miss a substantial part of the season, with his return unlikely before the end of the calendar year. Consequently, the former St Pauli attacker can effectively be written off for this season.

The Black Stars attacker joined SC Freiburg in 2022 from St Pauli on a free transfer.
