Ghana defender, Daniel Opare has applauded the supporters of Royal Antwerp after his side's 1-0 win at Sporting Charleroi in the Belgian Pro League opener on Sunday.

The former Real Madrid defender enjoyed the full throttle as The Great Old Ploeg van 't Stad won at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.

Opare joined Antwerp after leaving German side Augsburg and he has been showering praises on the club's supporters.

"I am very tired and have a lot of headaches after that collision in the first half, but I kept going and wanted to continue playing", says Opare. "We have worked hard to get the three points here."

"It's certainly not easy to play on the Charleroi field, but it's been four years since I played here, but I still know football in Belgium."

"They are crazy ... In a good way", according to a smiling Opare. "It is fantastic to see them busy."
