Leicester City's Danny Drinkwater was one of the more underrated players in the Foxes' miracle title-winning season in the last campaign, and has continued to feature in their less than miraculous run of games this time around.

In the Champions League, however, Leicester have shown some real promise. They top their group with three wins, and Drinkwater has been a menace in his European games.

He was told of his overall passing statistics in EuropebyThe Times, which had him reeling in astonishment.

"Is that completed?!! Eighty-six per cent! B***** hell, that's good!" exclaimed Drinkwater.

'I'll take that. I wouldn't have thought I was one of the highest in the Champions League with passing stats."

"That's a bit crazy. I just try to improve myself as a player every day. There's still a long way to go."

Drinkwater also ran over 20 miles in his three group games against Club Brugge, FC Copenhagen and FC Porto, becoming a marathon man. In chirpy and slightly inappropriate fashion, the midfielder puts it all down to his improved diet.

"I try to eat the right things. I've stopped eating s***. I got away with it when I was young. I ate kebabs and all that kind of c***."

The marathon attributes of Drinkwater werebrought to the fore again on Saturday in Leicester's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the King Power Stadium, following goals by Musa, Okawzaki and Fuchs.
