Nottingham Forest full back Danny Fox is beaming after signing a two year extension deal to his current contract with the club, which will keep him at the City Ground until the year 2018.

Speaking to the club'sofficial website, the 30-year-old said: "I'm grateful to the staff for seeing what they've seen in me in the last few weeks. Hopefully I can repay their faith this season, and the season after, and we can have a memorable year this year.I'm just delighted to get it over the line so I can solely focus on football and doing well for Nottingham Forest.

"I think the lads are itching to get the season started and to hit the ground running against Burton, but the next two weeks are going to be vital.Hull will be a major test “ they were one of the best teams in the Championship last season but I believe we were unlucky not to beat them home and away.

"Touch wood, nobody gets injured so we can go into the final week of pre-season preparing for the league to start. It's about progression “ we don't want to do so well in pre-season and come unstuck in the league so it's vitally important we put in a good performance on Saturday - and win."

Fox will be joined in the Forest squad by Damien Perquis, who signed from MLS side Toronto FC. The centre back is raring to go and revealed which legendary player inspired him to move to England.

"It's a dream for me to play in England and Forest are a big club with history, so it's great for me to be here now.Eric Cantona is my idol - that's why I dreamed of playing in England “ and I like the fight, I like to be ready to jump and have contact with players. That's not a problem for me.I feel great “ I was a little bit tired with jet-lag when I came three days ago but now I'm OK and really enjoying training with my new team-mates."
