Ghana striker David Accam scored the consolation for Chicago Fire but was sent off in their 3-1 defeat to New England Revolution in the US Open Cup semi-final on Tuesday night.
The 25-year-old leveled for Fire in the 40th minute with a twinkle-toed finish that saw him plant Watson on the turf with a nasty cutback.
This was after Kei Kamara had opened the scoring from the penalty spot.
It was Accam's fifth goal in U.S. Open Cup play this season, tying him for the tournament's Golden Boot honor to date and moving him into sole possession of fifth on the Chicago Fire's list of all-time leading Open Cup goal-scorers
On the 89th minute, a frustrated Accam committed a hard foul on Kelyn Rowe, then shoved the Revs midfielder to earn a straight red card.
