Black Stars defender, Alexander Djiku says he cannot wait to help Ghana win the remaining two matches in the qualifiers to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
According to the France-born centre-back, he wants to play at the AFCON with Ghana after making his debut last year.
“We still have two matches in March to qualify for the [Afcon]. I can't wait to go back and win these two matches to qualify,” Djiku told Goal in an interview.
The Racing Strasbourg defender continued, “I was called four-five years ago, but I had not yet found stability in a club. I first wanted to become an executive somewhere before joining the selection.
“We had to wait for the right moment, I was reaching maturity and it was time to go. Playing an [Afcon] would be really nice, but first you have to qualify.”
Ghana tops Group C at the moment and will play against South Africa and Sao Tome & Principe in March to conclude the qualifiers to the AFCON.
