Aduana Stars defender Anokye Badu has called on Ghanaians to throw their support behind two of the country's representatives in Africa.

Aduana Stars are representing Ghana in the CAF Champions League and will face Libyan side Al Tahaddy this weekend in the first leg of the preliminary stage. The Ghanaian Champions will travel to Egypt on Thursday for the tie.

Meanwhile, FA Cup Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko will face Club Athletique Renaissance De Aiglon in the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday in Kumasi.

Ahead of the games this weekend, former Hearts of Lions defender, who now plays for Aduana Stars has called on Ghanaian to back the clubs for success in Africa.

“Preparation towards Sunday’s game against Al Tahadddy is very high," he said.

“We entreat every Ghanaian to support us with their prayers because we will be Ghana’s sole representative in the champions league”. He added.

“We also pray that our counterparts [Kotoko] will also secure the 3-maximum points in their encounter [with CARA].

“By the time we return from Egypt, Ghana’s representatives in Africa [both Aduana and Kotoko]will bring victory”, he concluded.

Both Aduana Stars and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have tasted continental football in the past, but clubs from Ghana have struggled to make an impact in recent years.
