Ghanaian defender Godfred Asante has expressed excitement after aiding Guinean side FC Horoya to lift the Super Cup trophy.
The former Dreams FC centreback played a vital role and helped the Guinean giants to overcome Wakriya AC de Boke.
“I have a feeling of satisfaction to be today who offers a victory to my club but also a trophy which is the Super Cup," he told official club website. "For a start, my goal is to help the club progress, to win trophies.
"That’s why choosing with a match, I always do it to confirm it with my place in the group and show the coach my talent,” he said.
The 26-year-old further revealed how his side managed to win the ultimate.
“It was not easy to cross the first 45 minutes. Since it is not a secret for anyone what is one of the best clubs in the Guinean championship.
"They played well especially their middle which is very strong. In the 2nd period, it was still not easy to play but we did the basics. I intervened at the right moment,” he explained.
He is at the club along with Ghanaian quartet Patrick Razak, Brefo Mensah, Mandela Ocansey and Sebe Baffour were in the Horoya squad for the game.
Asante, who has now won 5 Super Cup titles since he joined the West African side from Dreams FC.
