The head coach of the Ghana national team, Milovan Rajevac has attributed Ghana’s disappointing draw with Ethiopia to defensive problems and mistakes his team made.
The Black Stars hoped for a win on Thursday afternoon to enhance their chances of progressing to the final stage of the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Although Ghana led 1-0 at halftime, Ethiopia drew level in the second half and forced the match to end in a stalemate.
Speaking after the game, Milovan Rajevac applauded the performance of his team despite the result which is a setback.
“First I want to congratulate my boys for fighting very hard. We were expecting a very tough match today and I want to congratulate the Ethiopian team for a very good performance today, they deserve this result,” the Serbian tactician said.
Milovan Rajevac added, “We had some problems in defence especially today. We made some mistakes so after all, everything will be decided on Sunday so for us it’s important to win our next match on Sunday with a two-goal difference if we want to qualify for the final round of the qualification for the World Cup.”
Ghana must beat South Africa this weekend to advance to the last stage of the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
