Demetri Mitchell was thrilled to make a winning debut for Manchester United in victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The Mancunian almost claimed a first-half assist with a raking pass for Wayne Rooney and handled Wilfried Zaha commendably throughout the 2-0 win.
Mitchell was particularly grateful for the advice three of his senior teammates gave him ahead of the game.
"Beforehand, Paul Pogba, Carrick, Phil Jones next to me, were helping a lot. They give you confidence and helped me a lot in the game," Mitchell told MUTV.
"Especially after the game, I was thinking 'this is what it's all about, it's what dreams are made of'. Mum and Dad were here, my nanna, brothers and sisters – I had to get as many tickets as I could."
Mitchell was also delighted for Josh Harrop after his goal on debut.
"He scored a hat-trick last Monday, he had two similar goals in that, and you could see his confidence from that game," Mitchell added. "Even the game before he scored, against Arsenal, and I think that's how he came up with that finish."
