Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel has criticised his team forplaying too defensivelyin their 1-1 draw against Mainz on Sunday night.
As reported by Dortmund's official website, Tuchel was critical of his side for going against their footballing philosophies, when speaking to Sky after the match.
When asked by a reporter what annoyed him most about the game, Tuchel responded: "The fact that we lost our identity!
"I got the feeling we were happy to sit back and defend. Our mentality seemed to suggest that we thought it was simply a case of battling and that we would manage to win it somehow and take a 1-0 victory home with us. We simply weren't active enough."
Dortmund led the gamefrom the third minute after Marco Reus put Tuchel's side 1-0 up. YetDortmund never extended the lead and paid the price in the last 10 minutes, conceding a late header from Mainz's Danny Latza.

Tuchel was left frustrated after the game that his side didn't capitalise on their early advantage: "We didn't have the courage to move ourselves further forward and thus calm the game down.
"We did not make use of our opportunities to switch the play either, otherwise we could have won. It can always happen that you are punished like that late on."
The result leaves Dortmund in fourth in the league, and 14 points off leaders Bayern Munich.
Next up for Tuchel's men is Saturday's league match against RB Leipzig. The newly promoted side have shocked German football and currently sit second in the Bundesliga.
