Don't copy blindly; maintain 18-club DOL - Jojo Duncan to GFA

Owner of Proud United, Jojo Duncan has charged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to stop copying blindly from other associations and abort plans to reduce the number of participating clubs in the Division One League.

This comes on the back of a communique from the country's football governing body last week which indicated that plans to reduce the number of teams in the lower tier from 48 to 18 are starting.

In an interview with Skyy FM, Jojo Duncan who clearly is not in favor of the idea hs expressed his displeasure. While he accuses the Ghana FA of trying to copy from South Africa, he has dared the GFA to come out with a tangible reason to defend why it is necessary to play an 18-club Division One League competition.

“South Africa is different from Ghana in every aspect so we cannot go and copy exactly what they do. We copy anyhow and want to always import intelligence from everywhere.

“There is a reason we moved to a 48 team league. The GFA should give tangible reasons why we should clear off 30 DOL clubs", Jojo Duncan said.
