Former Chairman of the Normalization Committee (NC) Dr. Kofi Amoah has through a press statement set the record straight on media reports accusing him of keeping hold of some amount of money belonging to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) from the settlement of the Globacom settlement money.
Glo, a telecommunications network that sponsored the Ghana Premier League in the past recently settled a debt of $1 million owed the country’s football governing body.
The full amount of the payment was expected to go to the newly constituted GFA but only $900,000 was handed over by Dr. Kofi Amoah.
It was later revealed that $50,000 of the remainder had been paid to Lawyer Thaddeus Sory whose law firm led the arbitration that resulted in Globacom repaying the money.
With the remaining $50,000 still unaccounted for, Dr. Kofi Amoah has in the last 24 hours been accused of embezzling the money.
In a statement to set the records straight, the former NC boss has released a statement to address the issue.
